"oneLine": "With a real, mirror-symmetric probe such as a Gaussian beam, finite cyclic ptychography can only confuse an object with its twin, a conjugate pair on two opposite pixels in the object or its Fourier transform, and one extra coherent intensity measurement tells every twin pair apart.",
"abstract": "Ptychography images an object by scanning a known illumination, the probe, across it and recording only diffraction intensities, so the lost phases must be recovered mathematically. Symmetric probes, including every real mirror-symmetric probe such as a Gaussian beam, force some coefficients of the data to vanish, and then some different objects give identical data; the Phasebook survey (Allain et al. 2025, Section 8.1) asks for recovery guarantees in that situation. This candidate answers precise finite cyclic subclasses of the question, with every scan position and frequency recorded and the probe known exactly. For real-even probes whose zero pattern is exactly the forced cross, including circular-distance Gaussian probes at all but finitely many widths, every ambiguity is a twin pair: a conjugate pair living on two antipodal pixels, in the object or in its Fourier transform, and nothing worse. One extra coherent intensity |g*x|², in practice one extra exposure under a structured illumination read at the zero-frequency pixel, removes every twin, even against mixed-state (positive-semidefinite) competitors. The first exceptional Gaussian widths are certified exactly for n = 6 to 16. For a related single-line probe family the paper gives exact stability constants, an optimal added measurement in a stated normalised metric and a one-unknown direct reconstruction; for short three-site probes, a local two-pixel repair. The single-line classification, obstruction mechanism and PSD algorithm already appear in the public AI-assisted manuscript VESPER–QUORUM and are credited, not claimed. The extra measurement changes the data model, a defocus chirp fails when 4 divides n, Gaussian genericity is exact-arithmetic only, the real-even stability constant is qualitative, and all numerics are synthetic. AI-assisted, unrefereed candidate; no external peer review, independent reproduction or formal verification is claimed.",

"Only twin ambiguities (Theorem 9.3): for a real-even probe whose multipliers p_r(q) vanish exactly on the forced cross (q = N, r odd) ∪ (r = N, q odd), n = 2N ≥ 6, every data fibre has at most two global-phase classes; the nontrivial ones are conjugate pairs a e_t + b e_{t+N} on one antipodal pair, in the object or in its Fourier transform, with no mixed cases.",
"One extra intensity repairs them (Theorem 9.5, Proposition 9.6): adding |g*x|² gives injectivity exactly when g*D_t g ≠ 0 and g*B_t g ≠ 0 for all t, and then every rank-one target is unique even among positive-semidefinite competitors; the twisted geometric vector g_j ∝ ρ^j e^{iπj/n} works in every even dimension, with block gains at least 1/(√2 n²) at ρ = 1 − 1/n.",
    "Gaussian probes (Proposition 9.1, Theorem 9.2): circular-distance Gaussians t^{dist(j,0)²} have exactly the cross mask for all but finitely many widths, including every t ≤ 1/n; certified computation locates every exceptional width for n = 6 to 16, with first width t*(6) = 2^{-1/2} and t*(n) ≈ 0.74–0.84 for 8 ≤ n ≤ 16.",
"Single-line probes (Theorems 8.18–8.19, 8.11): exact paired and PSD stability gaps after one added intensity and one vector maximising both at fixed energy, in a stated deconvolved, orthogonalised metric; a direct reconstruction with one real unknown. The underlying block classification is credited to VESPER–QUORUM.",
"Warnings and limits: a quadratic (defocus) chirp repairs the cross mask optimally when n ≡ 2 (mod 4) but repairs nothing when 4 divides n; Gaussian multipliers are numerically tiny (about 4 × 10⁻¹⁴ at n = 10, t = 1/n); the cross-mask stability constant is qualitative; idealised cyclic model, known probe, synthetic numerics."
