"oneLine": "For the complex weight (1 − t²)ᵅ e^(ixt) on [−1, 1], every even-size Hankel determinant is strictly positive for every α > −1 and every real frequency x, so the even-degree orthogonal polynomials behind complex Gaussian quadrature always exist; odd sizes vanish infinitely often.",
"abstract": "Gaussian-type rules for highly oscillatory integrals can be built from polynomials orthogonal with respect to a complex weight, here (1 − t²)ᵅ e^(ixt) on [−1, 1]. Because the weight is complex, the monic polynomial of degree N exists only when the N × N Hankel determinant D_N(x) of the moments is nonzero. Celsus, Deaño, Huybrechs and Iserles (2022) proved that the even-size determinants never vanish for the flat weight α = 0. This candidate proves that every even-size determinant is strictly positive for every α > −1 and every real x, by continuation in α: a Pearson identity shows that adjacent determinants never vanish together (and that every complex zero is simple), and a large-frequency expansion with constants uniform on compact exponent intervals keeps zeros from arriving from infinity. Odd-size determinants have infinitely many real zeros. The same expansion proves the formal degree and leading-coefficient conjectures of Milovanović, Cvetković and Marjanović (2008) and gives complete proofs of the recurrence-coefficient formulas in Conjectures 2.5 and 2.7 of Lyu and Zhou (2026). A ResearchGate preprint by J. M. Ashfaque (24 July 2026) claimed those recurrence formulas earlier; its Proposition 3.1 fails as printed, and this release claims the first complete proofs known to it, not the first claim. An exact Bessel–Jacobi determinant identity, with an unrefereed preprint of Kounchev and Render, gives the critical length (the first positive zero of the Bessel function of order 7/2) for the span of x^j cos x, x^j sin x, 0 ≤ j ≤ 3. Existence only: no claim about distinct quadrature nodes, nonzero weights or conditioning. AI-assisted, unrefereed candidate; no external peer review, independent reproduction or formal verification is claimed.",
