  "abstract": "Knowing balance-sheet totals need not identify losses after a shock. This candidate studies the remaining loss range when reports reveal selected exposures. Explicit synthetic networks exhibit reports that have no guaranteed value separately but identify the target jointly. A one-layer simplex construction isolates the role of accounting constraints and the allowed menu without requiring nonlinear loss. For affine targets and reports on a simplex, linear-programming duality gives an exact residual-width certificate, an identification criterion and a bounded-error extension. A layered family supplies magnitude formulas, a corrected prior-dependent submodularity criterion including zero-moment cases, and an exact heterogeneous-noise formula. These are model-specific mathematical results, not validation of real-bank disclosures, welfare gains or regulatory policy.",
